The best way to increase the impact of the gathered chuch of the parish on the life of the domestic church of the home is to build strong, affirming and evangelizing partnerships with families at every opportunity because the truth is that the life and vitality of families directly affects the life and vitality of the parish, the community and the world.

1. WORKSHOPS ON MARRIAGE, FAMILY AND HUMAN SEXUALITY - in conjuncton with the 2002 Year of Study of the above topics in light of John Paul II's Theology of the Body.

  • The Spirituality of Married Life
  • Marriage Preparation Across the Lifecycle - We're All In This Together
  • Couple Communicaton and Couple Prayer - The Three Ply Chord
  • The Gift of Self - Sexuality in God's Plan for Mariage
  • Church Teaching on the Sacrament of Marriage
  • John Paul II's Theology of the Body - A Message of Hope for a Troubled World
  • John Paul II's Apostolic Exhortation "On the Family" Familiaris Consortio - The Role of the Christian Family in the Modern World.

Note: All of the workshops above will be done whenever possible by both Ed and Pat McCarthy and will include suggestions for ongoing study. Models will be shown and expalined.

2. WORKSHOPS FOR PARENTS - presented as adult education or as intergenerational education, depending on topic selected and the needs of the parish community.
