Parenting
Pointer:You
are not your child. Your success or failure as a parent is not
dependent or your child's successes or failures. When things go
well for your child, be happy for him or her. When things don't
go well offer your understanding and support.

MOVIE
WARNING
Golden
Compass "children's" movie
THE GOLDEN COMPASS, a
new movie targeted at children, will be released December 7, 2007.
This movie is based on the first book of a trilogy by atheist Philip
Pullman. In the final book a boy and girl kill God so they can do
as they please. Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when
he said in a 2003 interview that "My books are about killing
God."
The movie is a watered
down version of the first book and is designed to be very attractive
in the hope unsuspecting parents will take their children to see
the movie and that the children will want the books for Christmas.
It stars Nicole Kidman; therefore, It will probably be advertised
extensively, so it is crucial that we get the word out to warn parents
to avoid this movie.
You can research this
for yourself. Start with this article on Snopes.com, then go to
Google.

WARNING: KNOW WHAT YOUR
CHILDREN ARE LISTENING TO!
The following is an actual letter sent to Pat from a concerned
parent. The parent's name was left off for privacy.
Dear Pat McCarthy,
I recently discovered my son listening to highly objectionable 'music',
the
primary theme of which is serial killing and which glorifies John
Wayne
Gacy, child abuse, and sexual violence, and promotes abortion.
The material is called 'Music For Children's Parties' by
'Active Nihilism'!!!
It was released by Decisive Sound Records:
http://www.reautomation.com/dsound.html
And is free to download here:
http://www.archive.org/details/Active_Nihilism-Music_For_Childrens_Parties-dsound-2006
I had no idea such material even existed, and if my child can find
this then
so can other children.
What can be done?
Yours in Christ,
"Name left off this for privacy"
DO NOT LET YOUR CHILDREN GO TO THESE LINKS UNTIL YOU HAVE
CHECKED THEM OUT!!!
Pat's Answer:
I will forward this information to our media consultant and ask
her to network it out. I can also send it to our website and ask
that a warning be put on our parents' page. We can also PRAY the
protection of the blood of Jesus over our children every single
day. Thank you for writing.
